We pay respect to the Darug and Gundungurra Traditional Owners of this land

Festival Information

Hi and welcome to our second Katoomba Oldtime folk festival. The mountains are such a beautiful place to live and we like to pay our respect to the Darug and Gundungurra Traditional Owners and Custodians of this land, and to the Elders, past present and future. We are excited about our second community event that brings together local and national Oldtime musicians. Sharing music up in the mountains has always been such a natural expression and we are so happy to be able to share some great music from the Oldtime and Bluegrass community with our mountain’s community. The festival will run between Plantbased Wholefoods café/restaurant 97 Katoomba st, and the beautiful Church hall across the road, Junction 142. We will be running music at both venues from 10am, with an Oldtime dance late afternoon in the Church hall, followed by an evening of music, eating and drinking till late at Plantbased Wholefoods. During the event there will be space for musicians to get together and play in and upstairs in the café. There will be a play/singalong session with Maizy Coombes and The Plough in the cafe.

We have kept the event free to attend to keep offering something we love to the town. There will be Food and Chai on sale in the Hall; Plantbased Wholefoods will of course have plenty to offer; also Katoomba St has something for everybody. We will have a Henna artist and some instruments on sale.

If you are making a weekend of it – on Friday night we will have an opening show and an Oldtime jam at the cafe.

There is a lot going on up here, please come on up and let the good times roll (or the Oldtimes)

We would like to acknowledge that the Festival is only made possible by the generosity of the musicians and our supporters ... thank you all

Yours.

Robyn, Harry, John and Vera
